CHALLENGE
Shockwave has incredible potential for 3D gaming environments, and we at Fuel wanted to test the waters as a challenge to ourselves. Our goal was to create a fast action game that took our skills to the limits.
STRATEGY
Wakeboarding is moving from an extreme, niche sport to a popular alternative to waterskiing. With physics comparable to a cross between waterskiing and snowboarding, we felt that developing a dynamic game based on this sport would be both an enjoyable challenge to ourselves and players alike.

CREATIVE & EXECUTION
Switch Wakeboarding was developed as a cutting edge Shockwave 3D wakeboarding simulation.
In water that looks so real you’d expect it to pour out of your USB ports, gamers are encouraged to perform a variety of exciting stunts for points as they’re towed by a speeding boat through a variety of obstacles.

Players can choose one of two characters to compete in three different courses. Each course was designed to provide maximum opportunity for big air, and big stunts. The player's goal is to jump off the wake, and obstacles, in order to perform tricks while in the air. As they successfully complete different tricks, additional moves will be unlocked. A total of 10 different moves are available. Additionally, there are a total of 5 boards, and 3 outfits which can also be unlocked by earning points.
Switch Wakeboarding has some of the best graphics ever created for Shockwave 3D. From a clear red sky at dusk to the evergreens that line the shore, Fuel has created an environment that immerses players in a weekend trip to the lake. Houseboats, rocky islands and even a seaplane dot the lake courses and add a sense of reality to the game.

PERFORMANCE
Players are waking up: 25,000 average plays/day Top day of 45,000 plays. Hundreds of thousands of game plays to date.
