CLIENT: MICROSOFT / SHERATON | RELEASED: MAY 2008
CHALLENGE
Sheraton wanted to move their business centers from their former locations right into the lobby to give their guests a place to relax and socialize. They also wanted to extend their guests?? Sheraton experience beyond simply staying at the hotel.
STRATEGY
We knew reaching out while on business travel wasn't always the most convenient, so accessibility was top of mind. The computers would be placed in the lobby, so we knew our interface had to be simple and intuitive, allowing guests to quickly find the features they needed to get in touch, then get back to business.
CREATIVE AND EXECUTION
The interface is designed to be welcoming and bright. The use of outdoor imagery wasn't an accident, as the service's main goal was to allow users to feel more connected to their world outside the hotel. The site features weather updates, and city tips by Sheraton. It also gives visitors a clean and simple interface for launching into a web browser, or access the hotel's printing services.

The crown jewel in the service, however, is the ability for guests to send a quick and easy video postcard to friends and family. Each Link@Sheraton workstation comes complete with a webcam, and the process is simple: by clicking on the prominent button, a window launches, which immediately allows guests to record a video message. Users can attach a text greeting to the postcard as well, and Link@Sheraton send it to their recipients, so visitors can get on with their day.
PERFORMANCE
Link@Sheraton is currently in Sheraton lobbies across the world, and helping travelers connect in new and simple ways.
