CLIENT: SPIN MASTER | RELEASED: AUG 2006
CHALLENGE
Kids of all ages love radio controlled planes. Spin Master, one of the world’s leading toy developers, wanted to drive sales of their next-generation remote-controlled Air Hogs line. They challenged Fuel Industries to develop a virtual experience that would let customers discover the fun of playing with the toys in an interactive environment.

STRATEGY
Key to the success of this site was accurately translating the physical toy into the online environment. During the creation process, the Fuel team worked closely with the toy’s inventor, a former military pilot, to ensure the experience would be true to reality. We built a fully interactive 3D environment, calling attention to the functionality, as well as the thrill, of the Air Hogs experience. The site was designed to drive intent to purchase by allowing users to compare the 5 models, including product specs and helpful hints on each toy.

CREATIVE & EXECUTION
Players can choose one of five Air Hog products including three planes, a helicopter, and a new Hydrofoam™ - a flying vehicle that also works on land and water. We developed cinematic 3D environments including an airplane hangar and a canyon in which to test out the vehicles. Users controlled the viewing angle from in front or behind the aircraft and were able to see the aircraft’s full potential through pre-rendered flight sequences.
Television commercials, instructional videos and a FAQ section help users learn about the five models and how to perform special tricks to get the full capability out of their real life Air Hogs.
