<description>Every time I hear someone ask 'how is Twitter different from Facebook' I die a little on the inside because they obviously just don't know what Twitter is for.

The way I see it, Twitter is simply micro-blogging. Take the 'status' section of Facebook or at least the concept, and turn it into its own entity. The simplicity of Twitter is what makes it fantastic. There's only one layer of information, your twitter profile page. It's the most approachable thing I've used in a long time because I can update and respond so instantaneously from the web, my phone, and desktop API's.

I've connected my Twitter account to my Facebook status for this sole reason. Facebook is quite private meanwhile Twitter is entirely public (although there is a lock feature). I like keeping these things in separate places for this reason.

I still tweet, and will do so through my travels of Europe in the next two months. Can't think of a better way to share the experience with friends and family than linking to maps and flickr photo sets through my twitter page.
