Fairies and Dragons in Barcelona!

Greetings from Spain!

Hello, this is Jessica Borutski reporting from Barcelona. I was the artistic lead on The Fairies and Dragons campaign we created for McDonald’s. It was the most rewarding and exciting project I have ever worked on, and being able to see it here across the ocean, so far from our studio where it was created, is a great experience!

It’s so exciting to be here in this beautiful city! Barcelona has so many amazing things to see! The first dinner I had was a delicious Cheeseburger Happy Meal complete with a Sunflower happy meal toy! It was so amazing to see the toys finally out and in the hands of cute little Barcelonian kids. I wish I could have brought the entire team with me to experience seeing our work out in the public!

In the first McDonald’s I walked into, I immediately spotted a little girl eating a Happy Meal, so I snapped a candid shot of her. (Luckily nobody noticed the strange Canadian woman taking pictures of children eating hamburgers.)

It seemed they didnt know the floor decals were meant for the floor because they were on windows everywhere. I’ve visited a total of three McDonald’s so far. The first two smaller ones in the Ramblas didn’t have as many Point of Purchase elements. The third McDonald’s by the Sagrada Famillia was larger and had the hanging mobiles of the characters on the mouses.

In this display below there was a fairy I don’t remember designing. I guess I will call her Marigold the fifth fairy from Barcelona.

My McDonald’s adventures will continue in the morning! For now I need some sleep. All this walking made me tired, and Im still a little jet-lagged! Goodbye for now!
