Casual Games are not just downloads
The schedule for Casual Connect Seattle 2007 were just posted, and I’m going to be giving a talk as part of the Casual Games Academy on Day 0 of the conference (don’t ask me, how they came up with that). Anyway the talk is titled Casual Games are not Just Downloads and I’m going to be able to address one of the biggest problems I see in the casual space today. There’s so much intense focus on selling a $20 download to a 50 year old Mom that the space is just driving itself into a niche audience.
Obviously the stuff that we do here at Fuel reaches a much wider demographic, but there’s lots of other spaces to reach out to, and the more everyone tries to zoom in on the casual mom, the more we’re missing out on the true opportunity.
(Note: I’ll try to stop posting about conferences, but it’s that time of year!)
